In order to provide the Talk Christmas service and link you with a volunteer to talk to during the festive period it is necessary for us to collect information about you which will include:
- Basic details about you including name, address and telephone number
- Details about what support you require and anything relevant to your circumstances to enable us to provide that support.

All personal data held, is processed in accordance with data protection law. The Data Controller for the information outlined in this privacy notice is Herefordshire Council.

We will use the information you provide to:
- Connect you to a volunteer to chat to

The legal basis for processing the data is your consent to do so which you can withdraw at anytime by contacting talktogether@herefordshire.gov.uk or 01432 261988.
- Who we will share your information with

We will share your information only as necessary with the organisations such as community groups and volunteers that we are working with to provide support to individuals at home. Only the minimum information for the purpose will be shared.
- How long we keep your personal information

We will only keep your information for the minimum period necessary. The information outlined in this privacy notice will be kept for six years. All information will be held securely and destroyed under confidential conditions.

You have a number of rights under data protection law, including the right to request a copy of your information and to request that the information be amended or erased if incorrect.
To request a copy of your records, you will need to put your request in writing and provide proof of identification to the Information Governance Team via email, informationgovernance@herefordshire.gov.uk
You also have a right to make a complaint about our handling of your personal data to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
