The Government is offering financial support to help households, businesses and farmers recover from the flooding caused by Storm Henk between 2 and 12 January 2024.
- Aim of scheme

To help towards the costs of recovery for small / medium sized businesses in the county affected by Storm Henk.
- Who can apply

The funding is available if a business can provide evidence to show that it has either been:
- Directly impacted by Storm Henk (there was flood damage to the property, equipment and/or stock) or
- Indirectly impacted by Storm Henk for instance access to the business premises was severely restricted as a result of flooding, including no/highly restricted access for customers, suppliers or staff and directly suffered a loss of trade as a result
Qualifying criteria
In order to be able to apply, a business must be both:
- A Small or Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) by the Government's definition which is: to have fewer than 250 employees and have a turnover of less than €50m or a balance sheet total less than €43m
AND - Trading at or from the property at the point that the property was impacted by Storm Henk (fully constituted businesses in liquidation, dissolved, struck off or subject to a striking-off notice are not eligible under these conditions)
Additionally, the applicant business must:
- Be able to receive the grant payment in line with subsidy controls.
- Have appropriate flooding insurance cover in place or have actively made attempts to insure the business premises against flood damage on at least one occasion since 1 January 2023.
You may also be eligible for 100% Business Rate Relief for at least 3 months, or until the business is able to resume trading from the property if longer. This is if your business meets the Qualifying criteria above.

If your business meets the criteria you can apply for the £2,500 Business Recovery Grant and for the Business Rate Relief Scheme.

Applications for this grant are now closed.
- Procedures are in place to prevent fraudulent claims being made.
- The decision of the grant panel is final and it reserves the right to reject an application.
