Herefordshire Homelessness Forum
The Homelessness Forum brings together partners across Herefordshire to work together to end homelessness.
We focus on preventing and responding to homelessness, including the provision of suitable accommodation. It is the main opportunity for statutory partners, agencies and organisations from the local voluntary, community and faith sectors to share learning and hold each other to account in our shared mission to end homelessness.
Vision of the Herefordshire Homelessness Forum
- People are empowered to live their best lives, and we will work collaboratively to help end homelessness in Herefordshire.
Purpose of Herefordshire Homelessness Forum
- Increase awareness and understanding of homelessness and vulnerability to homelessness and encourage partnership working across all sectors.
- Share experience between members to help support and improve services for those at risk of being made homeless and those who are currently experiencing homelessness and to contribute to their health and wellbeing.
- Bring together different agencies, voluntary, faith and relevant statutory partners to share good practice and encourage collaborative working.
The forum does not review or share individual cases.
If you are concerned about someone who may be homeless or at risk of homelessness visit our homelessness pages.
Who the forum is for
The forum benefits from participation of managers and officers of front-line services across statutory, voluntary community and faith sector, who may come into contact with people who are:
- Rough sleeping
- Homeless
- Struggling with housing issues
- Experiencing multiple complex vulnerabilities, which may include homelessness
Why come to a homelessness forum?
- The Forum will provide a supportive space to meet, exchange information, create networks, encourage collaborative and constructive joint working relating to homelessness/risk of homelessness in Herefordshire
- Consider draft strategic documents and policy initiatives and act as a consultative mechanism for issues being prepared by strategic partners. In particular the Homelessness Prevention Strategy and related action plan.
- To assist in the delivery of strategic plans in relation to homelessness
- To consider the wider impact of new initiatives and legislation, both local and national relating to homelessness
- To keep under review the impact of changes to the homelessness environment and assist in providing evidence and research in related matters and to identify areas of concern
- To act as a campaigning and awareness-raising forum, acting on behalf of homeless people and agencies working in the sector
- To promote the integration of homelessness issues with wider health and social policy agendas
How to get involved
We welcome membership from any relevant organisations who work to support and reduce homelessness. We will check new members' credentials to verify:
