Community resilience

Resilient communities use their local resources and knowledge to help themselves during an emergency. Their community action takes the pressure off first responder services. And they also tend to recover faster after the event.

That's why we encourage town and parish councils in Herefordshire to actively build their community resilience. This means identifying the particular risks your community faces and then having a plan in place to deal with potential emergencies. The risks a community might face include severe floods, industrial fire or snowfall.
