As of 1 June 2023, the Council will be working with new provider YES Energy Solutions to deliver the county’s Keep Herefordshire Warm Service.

Keep Herefordshire Warm works with residents and stakeholders to alleviate fuel poverty in the county. The service seeks to mitigate the continued rise of energy prices by improving household energy efficiency, maximising household income and reducing energy bill spend.

Cllr Elissa Swinglehurst, Cabinet Member Environment, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with YES Energy Solutions to deliver the Keep Herefordshire Warm service. They have an excellent track record in helping people to optimise their energy consumption and reduce their bills.

“One of the first steps to staying healthy is maintaining a properly warmed home, so I would urge all Herefordshire households to be aware of the range of support that is available to help keep your home warm and safe.

“Even if you live in a warm home, well insulated and heated, keep an eye out for friends and neighbours living in older properties. If you suspect that someone may be struggling with the temperature of their home, or facing high energy bills, please do pay them a visit and encourage them to call Keep Herefordshire Warm if they are concerned.”

YES Energy Solutions is an award-winning Community Interest Company dedicated to reducing CO2 and alleviating fuel poverty. With no shareholders to satisfy, YES invests their profits into the communities they support – be it to establish sustainable energy projects, boost local employment in the energy saving sector, or offer sustainable solutions to the most vulnerable in society.

If you live in the county, YES’ expert energy advisors can help you join over 2,000 people who have saved an average of £500 per year through their advice services. This may include eligibility assessments for grants to improve the energy efficiency of your home, benefit entitlement checks, top tips to save money, and financial help on your energy bills.

YES can help you with over the phone support along with their energy saving pack which contains gadgets to save energy as well as helpful guides, plus in-depth energy efficiency reports if you request additional support.
