A new section of railings has been installed along a key section of the River Wye in Hereford.
The railings and pathway were left in a state of disrepair after being damaged during Strom Christoph, and these repairs are the first step in a wider scheme of improvements.
Cllr Barry Durkin, Cabinet Member Roads and Regulatory Services, said:
“Hopefully, residents will have noticed the new section of railing, which has been awaiting installation for some time now. Not only do the railings have an important safety function, the new section helps to improve the overall safety for the area and the aesthetic environment of the City Centre.
“We’re pleased that the work has been completed, and we have further plans to protect our footways from flood damage in the future. It is regrettable that to date it has not been expedient to refurbish the railing on the very busy path by the Wye but we will addressing this once the further works have been completed”.
