On Friday 16 February 2024 the Community Wellbeing Directorate will be demonstrating technologies that are being used in Herefordshire to help elderly and vulnerable people stay safe at home.
The demonstrations will be held at the Herefordshire Council head office, Plough Lane between 10am and 3pm.
As well as technologies that we have been using for some time, that can recognise adverse event such as falls and can summon assistance. We will be showing new technologies that can be used to predict and prevent those incidences from occurring and provide information about the welfare of service users to the vulnerable person themselves and to their carers.
These new technologies will enable Herefordshire Council to not only better support vulnerable people, but also to support those who care for vulnerable people.
Manufacturers attending on the day to showcase their TECs equipment will include NRS, Easylink, Independent Living Supplies, TeleAlarm, Pivotell, Cascade 3D,Vision Links, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and many more.
This is a "drop in" event that is open to the public, to carers and to professionals from all disciplines. There will be opportunities to see and touch the equipment as well as talk to the manufacturers and installers of the equipment.
We look forward to seeing you on the day.
Councillor Carole Gandy, Cabinet member adults, health and wellbeing, said:
I welcome this additional technological support which is another part of the Council's strategy of working with carers and elderly vulnerable residents to enable those residents to remain in their own homes and within their communities. This latest technology adds to that which is already available to many of our more vulnerable residents.
