Herefordshire residents are being encouraged to take part in a consultation on the future of trees, hedgerows and woodlands in the county.
Your thoughts, ideas and views are needed to help inform a strategy that will set out an aspirational, yet achievable, future vision for Herefordshire’s treescape that facilitates the improved management of existing stock, and the expansion of tree cover and hedgerow networks across the county.
Cllr Elissa Swinglehurst, Cabinet Member Environment, said:
“The tree strategy, which is led by the council, will set out an overarching strategy for both the protection and enhancement of tree coverage across Herefordshire. Its aim is to consider not only trees, hedgerows and woodland within the rural county but also aspire to increasing our street trees and canopy coverage within the urban environment.
“This is a partnership project and as well as individual responses, we welcome input from all sectors including environmental and landowning groups, industries and wider stakeholders.”
The consultation, which is being carried out by LUC on behalf of Herefordshire Council, will close on Sunday 8 December 2024.
The survey, along with further information, can be found on the website.
