Apply and pay for pre-app planning advice
Please read about our pre-app planning advice service before starting your application.
You will need these documents to upload:
- A site location plan (with site outlined in red) to a scale of 1:1250 or 1:2500
- Sketch or outline drawings of the existing building or site
- Any other information which may be relevant to your application
You can pay in the form by card or, for fees over £300, by BACS.

Other information which may be relevant:
- A block plan indicating the position of any existing buildings and what is proposed
- Details of any significant earth moving operations or excavations
- For listed buildings: details of proposed design, materials, construction and repair methods
- Clarification as to whether your request, or any part of it, should be treated as confidential
- Additional supportive reports or assessments in relation to specialist advice
- Any other information you consider relevant at this stage, for example, photographs of the site or buildings
