Definitive Map Modification Order (DMMO) register

The Definitive Map Modification Order (DMMO) register lists:

  • All applications received by the council, made under Schedule 14 and Section 53(5) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981
  • Details of earlier applications received by the council which were still to be determined at that date

We are required to maintain this register with effect from 31 December 2005.

The following fields in the DMMO register are explained and graded as follows:

Mod status

  • PENDING: Awaiting investigation and action
  • ACTIVE: Currently undergoing investigation, research and possible order-making procedures
  • RESOLVED: Application determined and, if necessary, legal orders made and taken through to conclusion

Priority

Based on the strength of evidence submitted with the application, and the usefulness or value of the claimed route to the rights of way network.

  • H = High priority
  • M = Medium priority
  • L = Low priority

Category

  • 1 = Creates a useful route and the evidence is very robust
  • 2 = Creates a useful route and the evidence is fairly robust
  • 3 = Creates a useful route and the evidence is weak
  • 4 = Does not create a useful route and the evidence is very robust
  • 5 = Does not create a useful route and the evidence is fairly robust
  • 6 = Does not create a useful route and the evidence is weak
