Secondary schools in Herefordshire

Herefordshire has 15 secondary schools (all of which are comprehensive day schools for both boys and girls), and three special schools, which are also for boys and girls. One however is a through school primary to secondary (The Steiner Academy).

Some of Herefordshire's secondary schools are academies which are directly maintained by the Department for Education and some are directly maintained by the Local Authority.

Admissions to community and voluntary controlled schools are on a non-selective basis. Most but not all such schools have defined catchment areas. Different admission arrangements apply to Voluntary Aided, Academies and Foundation schools where the Governing Bodies make the decisions.
