Street Tag

Street Tag and Active Herefordshire and Worcestershire logos

The healthy schools team is launching Street Tag for Herefordshire in June 2024.

Street Tag is a family-friendly smartphone app* game that records users physical activity and encourages users to get active and explore their local area by collecting virtual tags located across Herefordshire. Users gain points every time they go for a walk, run, bike ride and move up their school leader board.

Up to 250 people can represent a school team, students as well as parents/carers, grandparents, teachers and other school staff can be part of the team. Once people have joined a team they are able to collect tags and points to help their school climb the leader board.

Tags can be placed anywhere in Herefordshire, around schools, parks, footpaths and bridleways, leisure centres and other public spaces we are particularly encouraging school teams to set up tags on walking routes to schools turning Herefordshire into a giant virtual playground.

There's no cost to schools to enter Street Tag and by taking part you'll be able to compete in the school games area, which includes a leader board, and means you'll be in with a chance of winning some great prizes for your school!

  • £500 – 1st place school
  • £200 – 2nd place school
  • £100 – 3rd place school

The prizes will go to the school or PTFA to increase physical activity opportunities for school pupils. The Top 20 Street Tag Users will each receive a £10 voucher

Street Tag will go live in Herefordshire in June and schools are being invited to sign up now ready for the launch. Look out for the article in spotlight and the email from the Healthy Schools team to help you set up your school to help students and families to become more active and a chance to win prizes for your school.

*Fobs can be provided for students that don't have access to a smartphone.
