Renew your wedding vows

Herefordshire is a beautiful county and offers a wide range of venues for your renewal of vows ceremony.

A renewal of vows ceremony can be appropriate for a married couple of any age who have been married for any length of time and wish to renew their vows in a formal yet personal ceremony. Often these ceremonies are associated with a special wedding anniversary such as 10th or 25th, but the ceremony is just as appropriate for couples at any stage of marriage. For example, if you were married abroad, you can renew your vows in a ceremony held for family and friends, or you may just wish to celebrate a renewed commitment to each other.

A basic ceremony will usually take about 20 minutes but this will vary depending upon the number of readings and options as the ceremony can be personalised according to your requirements. Special people in your lives can take part in your ceremony - your children, guests who were at your wedding and friends and relatives. You can include music, readings, re-dedicate rings or exchange new ones and gifts and a commemorative certificate is signed during the ceremony by the couple and two witnesses. We have suggestions for personal vows of commitment which you may wish to make to each other or you can write your own, in consultation with an experienced Celebrant.

While renewal of marriage vows ceremonies may be carried out in the Register Office, it is designated as a private venue during these ceremonies. Neither the renewal of vows ceremony nor the commemorative certificate has any legal status.
