Flagon lid

A flagon lid found at Kenchester (Magna) showing the top sides of a pair of naked feet. Flagons for serving wine and other liquids were made from metal, pottery or glass. This fragment is from a metal flagon, made from a copper alloy. It is forms the base of the handle where the handle attaches to the vessel wall, and has been finely decorated with a pair of slender naked feet.
