Black and white photograph of Fritz Schindler on horseback. This was taken in about 1911 in Kenya. Fritz Schlinder was a Austrian hunter 'renowned for this spotless white breeches and gleaming boots, for his daring and his womanising'. He was killed in about 1912 whilst assisting the millionaire American filmmaker Paul Rainey, in photographing a lion charging at the camera. It is unclear what Schlinder's connection was with Herefordshire and how his collection found its way into the museum.
