New build properties and new communal developments

The check your bin collection day postcode search may not display recycling and waste collection information for new housing developments.

If your address is not listed, we may not have been notified about the new build property. Please request a collection service using one of the methods below:

The waste management team will then look into the service available in your area and tell you your collection day.

If you have moved into a property on a development where building work is still going on you may be required to take your rubbish and recycling to a temporary collection point. This will be arranged between the waste management team, our contractors and the site developer. We will inform you of any temporary collection points when we provide information about the collection service provided to your new property.

New communal developments

New communal developments will require assessment by an officer prior to bins being delivered and collections commencing.

When considering bin requirements, you must follow our pre-planning advice guidance, and always ensure that sufficient space is allowed to accommodate all required bins.

Rubbish and recycling capacity is calculated based upon the number of properties that will use the bins in a designated bin store. Priority will be given to providing the correct recycling capacity.

Additional capacity will not be provided, and any excess waste left beside the bins will not be collected by our crews.
