Proof of residency
For all parking permit applications we require proof that you live at the address for which you are applying for a permit.

Visitor permits
These are not vehicle specific (they do not have a registration number printed on the permit) and can be used on any eligible vehicle. Only one is permitted for each property (this is part of your overall allowance).
- No documents are required for the vehicle
- We only require proof of residency
Vehicle permits
These are issued to a vehicle and will have the vehicle's registration printed on the permit. They can only be used for the vehicle they are issued to. Check the permit eligibility tables to see how many vehicle permits you can have for the property you are applying for.
For vehicle permits we require all of the following:
- Proof of residency
- Proof of vehicle ownership
- Proof of vehicle insurance
Proof of vehicle ownership
Vehicle permits require evidence of ownership of the vehicle:
- Registration documents – the vehicle must be registered in the applicant’s name and at the address for which the application is being made. We may consider a receipt of purchase, provided the receipt/invoice shows the applicant’s name and address and the date the vehicle was purchased, which must be within 3 weeks of the application date.
- If the vehicle is a company car you will be required to provide either a confirmation letter from the company that you are the sole user of the vehicle and it is in your possession at all times or a copy of the lease/hire agreement.
The following is not acceptable as evidence of ownership:
- New keeper slip
You will need the V5 document for your vehicle to apply. The V5 registration document must:
- Be in the applicant's name
- Match the address for which the permit is requested
We cannot accept any other document, and cannot issue a permit without the correct details.
