- 3.30pm Kate Hickin, Apprenticeships and Work Placements Lead. Wye Valley Trust.
Are you interested in a career in construction or in working for the NHS but don’t know where to start?
We have two great sessions from Brian Rogers, Apprenticeship Support Officer for Construction at Hereford and Ludlow College, and Kate Hickin, Apprenticeships and Work Placements Lead. Wye Valley Trust.
Brian will be talking about ways you can get to work in construction, covering all roles such as bricklaying, carpentry electricians etc. and the apprenticeships and training they offer at Herefordshire and Ludlow College.
Kate will be talking about the ways you can get to work in the NHS and what training, and apprenticeships are available, she will be covering midwifery, nursing, and administrative roles within NHS
Both will be there to answer any questions you may have.

New Youth Employment Hub opened on Monday 28 October 2024
Herefordshire's new Youth Employment Hub is here to support young people aged 16-24 in their journey toward education, employment, and personal development. The Hub offers a comprehensive range of services, including:
- Education and training guidance
- Work experience and volunteering opportunities
- Confidence-building workshops
- Money management advice
- Wellbeing support
Additionally, the Hub will also be hosting career sector events and provide drop-in sessions for young people seeking immediate assistance.
The Youth Employment Hub is partnered with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), who will have two coaches on-site.
The Hub will also collaborate with SENDIASS and numerous national and local partners to ensure a holistic approach to youth support.
The Hub is coordinated by Amy Tommey, and has two Careers and Employment Coaches, Rebecca Mallon and Kath Ayres.
