Join the library

Joining is completely free. Anyone at any age can join and you do not need to live in Herefordshire to be a member of Herefordshire Libraries.

How to join

Online

Join or update your details online by completing the form below.

Your request will be processed within two working days (Monday - Friday). We will then email your new library account number and PIN to you so you can starting using our online resources. You can collect your card from any library in Herefordshire and use it to borrow books and use public computers. Please note, that if your request is placed at the weekend or when the office is closed, your request will be processed on the next working day.

Join in person at any Herefordshire library.

For full membership you will need to provide proof of your name and address. You can still join as an instant member without this – just bring in a document with your name and address to a library on your next visit.

Under 16s will need a parent or carer to be responsible for any items borrowed from the library.

Library membership

Anyone is welcome to use library facilities, browse the books, and come to library events and activities.

As a library member you can also:

  • Borrow books, audiobooks and DVDs
  • Borrow eBooks and eAudiobooks
  • Use computers and wifi in libraries
  • Access online resources from home

Your card lets you borrow items from and return them to any Herefordshire library and if used regularly is valid for life.

It is free to join the library, borrow books, eBooks and eAudiobooks and use our online resources. 

If you have given us an email address, we will send you reminders about library items that are due back soon, reserved items that are ready for collection, and updates about the library service.
