School finance information

Herefordshire Council is required to publish a budget statement before the start of each financial year under Section 52 of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998. We are also required to prepare an outturn statement at the end of each financial year.

These budget statements show:

• The council's planned spending
• How much of the whole education budget the council intends to spend on items outside the schools' budget
• How much the council proposes to retain centrally within the schools' budget for school services
• How the funding formula is working to produce budget shares for each school in Herefordshire
